What kind of water should I use with Aiden?
Ideally, use water that isn’t too hard or completely mineral-free. Hard water (like spring water) can cause scale buildup, while mineral-free water (like distilled water) can lead to internal damage over time.
How often should I descale Aiden?
Aiden includes descale reminders, but it’s best to descale based on your water. If you use hard water, descale every 3?4 weeks. If you use soft or filtered water, you can wait until Aiden reminds you.
What if Aiden says “add water” when the tank is full?
Make sure Aiden’s firmware is up to date, then run a flush cycle in the maintenance menu. If the result is 0.0 ml/S, contact Fellow support via our website. For 0.1?5.0 ml/S, descale using a liquid descaler.
Does Aiden have a hot plate under the carafe?
No, Aiden does not feature a hot plate. This was an intentional choice because hot plates continue to “cook” the coffee while it sits in the carafe. This can cause the coffee to taste burnt or bitter.
